Parking In Ocean City
Below, we have included a map of all the parking lots in downtown Ocean City, NJ. On a busy day (weekends and holidays) ... finding parking in Ocean City can be .... ummm .... let's say it can be a challenge. We have included some "locals tips" as well ... hope it helps!

Ocean City Parking Lots

Parking Rates
Parking rates in Ocean City are set through some mystical combination of weather, day of the week, direction of the wind ... and flipping a coin - we think. Honestly, there is no way to pin-down EXACT rates at any given parking lot in Ocean City ... but the following chart MAY prove to be somewhat helpful.

Metered Parking
You can find metered parking on almost every street in downtown Ocean City. There are also 2 metered parking lots in Ocean City (lots 1 and 18 above). Generally speaking, a quarter gets you 15 or 20 minutes (depending on where you are in town). Meters run anywhere from 2 hours (in the Ocean City shopping district) to 6 hours or more.

Attended Parking Lots
As a rule, attended parking lots run in 6 hour shifts ... meaning if you want to stay ALL DAY ... you may get stuck paying TWICE the posted rate. Be careful. There are a few lots that park ALL DAY ... look for the signs.

The following rates are general rules ... each lot may vary.

Weekdays: from $10 to $12 (6 hours)
Weekends: from $15 to $20 (6 hours)
Holidays: from $20 to $30

Overnight: Most lots do not allow overnight parking.

Insider Tips
Here are a few insider tips when parking in Ocean City.

Best FREE Parking
Brighton Avenue and 4th Street are on the edge of downtown Ocean City. They have no meters on the beachblock! This is a great place to see if you can find a parking spot!

Feeling Lucky?
7th Street and Wayne Ave. do have meters on the beach block ... but they are REALLY close to the action and for some reason ... they seem to be forgotten streets.

A Sure Thing
Both the parking lots on Plymouth Place (Lots 4 and 5) tend to have open spots. The street is poorly marked and there are small parking signs that are easily missed. This is good news for you, as they tend to have openings most of the time!

Going to the Waterpark?
As above ... we are looking at Plymouth Place. The waterpark entrance is right on Plymouth and the parking lots on Plymouth Place (Lots 4 and 5) tend to have open spots. The street is poorly marked and there are small parking signs that are easily missed. This is good news for you, as they tend to have openings most of the time!

When All Else Fails
If things are REALLY tight ... lots 1 and 18 tend to be the last to fill-up. Be ready for a bit of a walk though. The Ocean City beaches and boardwalk are several blocks away.

Traveling with Kids / Elderly
No question about it ... Plymouth Boarwalk Parking on Plymouth Place (lot 4) is your choice. it is the closest lot to the action. This means it's a short walk. It's also just a block from the public bathrooms.

Bike Rentals
The lots numbered 13, 14, 15 are probably your best bet if you are thinking of renting bikes when you first get into town. Get here early though ... bikes are not permitted on the boardwalk except in the mornings!

Bath House
So this has been added by website visitor request (see we DO listen) ... the Ocean City Bathouse is right off of 13th Street and the Boardwalk ... so your best bet is to park in lots 16 and 17.
